After graduating from California State University and spending four years in the Peace Corps in India, Bob Allison traveled to the San Juans of Colorado and decided it was where he wanted to be.

In the spring of 1980, Bob started Allison Constuction and initially built several mountain cabins and a few single family homes in the Ridgway and Ouray area.

In 1982 Ralph Lauren, one of the top fashion designers in America purchased his Ranch, the RRL just east of Ridgway and contacted Bob to restore many of the old homes and buildings on the ranch. Now, over 24 years later, Allison Construction is still active at the RRL Ranch. 

Allison Construction also helped construct actor Dennis Weaver's beautiful Ridgway home, the one-of-a-kind "Earthship".
